Gualter, in Lleida, is a small village in the Baronia de Rialb. You may be familiar with it, as it is the most inhabited village in the area, despite not having many more than 100 inhabitants. It is a small village with old houses (most of them) but with a lot of charm.
This village began to grow at the end of the Middle Ages, when an urban nucleus was created at the foot of the manor house of Gualter, ca Sastressó. From then on, the municipality began to take shape and ended up being a beautiful place that is definitely not to be missed. Come and discover it!

As we have already mentioned, Gualter is a beautiful village with charm in every corner. If you continue reading we recommend some of the places that you cannot miss, both in Gualter and in the surrounding area.
- Meandre del Segre, near the Rialb Reservoir: a meander of the river Segre that has allowed the growth of different species of plants and some animals.
- Monastery of Santa Maria de Gualter: an architectural complex made up of a Romanesque church and a cloister. It was once a Benedictine monastery, and today there are guided tours of the whole area, which has undergone renovation work to keep it in good condition.
- Church of the Sagrat Cor i de Santa Maria: church built in the 20th century, after the Spanish Civil War, with the aim of replacing the church of the monastery of Santa Maria.
Where to sleep in Gualter?
About 20 minutes’ drive from the village of Gualter is our country house, Casa dels Peixos. It is an ideal accommodation for families or groups of friends up to 16 members, right in the heart of the Barony of Rialb. It is the perfect place to get away from the routine and enjoy a good holiday. What’s more, the house has its own lake!
This house has two floors of 200m2. The entrance hall is on the first floor, next to two bedrooms with private bathrooms, and a games room perfect for entertaining any guest in the house, whatever their age. On the first floor is the dining room (with a capacity for 16 people and access to the outside of the house), the kitchen and six bedrooms, also with private bathrooms. All rooms are equipped with sheets and duvets. The outside of the house is fenced to provide privacy, and in this space there is the swimming pool, the lake, the barbecue, an area with sun loungers, and more space to park the cars.

Our guesthouse has been designed for the whole family and for all tastes. We offer a two-hour cooking workshop; we also do group yoga classes; as we have already mentioned, we have a games room, and in it there is a ping-pong table, table football and more games for all ages. Also, it is important to remember that the house is secluded, so the surroundings are green spaces perfect for any kind of outdoor sport
