In our opinion, there is nothing like an excursion to disconnect from routine and reconnect with yourself. So, if you feel like cooling off and taking advantage of the walk to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we recommend you to visit the Forat de Bulí, some waterfalls of the Rialb river.
We can assure you that this is one of the most spectacular water routes in the area, so if you are in the area, don’t miss the opportunity to go hiking in this place, one of the most famous natural pools (and rightly so!) in the whole of the Barony of Rialb.
What you should know about Forat de Bulí
We believe that there is nothing like planning an excursion in advance, so that no detail escapes us. So, here we are going to give you a little explanation about the place, so that your route will be much more pleasant.
First of all, a little bit about the geographical situation: the Forat de Bulí is located in the northern part of the Barony of Rialb. Next, repeat that it is one of the most beautiful places in the whole area. It is a gorge that has managed to captivate the attention and admiration of many tourists, as the views are incomparable, and you can even go canyoning.
Logically, there is more than one option for reaching the Forat de Bulí: although it must be reached on foot, there is more than one car park at different distances, so the length of the excursion may be up to you.
Even so, we suggest that you start at the Mas Barrat ravine, which ends at the Rialb river. There is no problem if you choose to deviate a little from the main route, as there is more than one natural pool along the route where you can bathe.
The waters are crystal clear, clean and refreshing, so we are convinced that they will invite you to take a dip! We just want to warn you that the water is usually quite cold (and who warns is not a traitor!), but it’s well worth it.
How to get to Forat de Bulí?
Where to sleep near Forat de Bulí?
After a good hike in the Forat de Bulí, we are convinced that you are going to need to rest somewhere. And this is where Casa dels Peixos, our rural house, comes into play. It is a house located right in the heart of the Barony of Rialb, just 20 minutes away from the famous Forat de Bulí. La Casa dels Peixos can accommodate up to 16 people, making it the ideal destination to go with family or friends, as everyone has their place.
La Casa dels Peixos has two floors of 200m2: on the first floor you will find the entrance hall, two large bedrooms with private bathrooms, and also a games room adapted to the interests of any possible guest. On the first floor is the dining room, with direct access to the outside of the house; the spacious kitchen, and six more bedrooms, also with a private bathroom. The outside of the house is fenced to provide security and privacy for all guests. In addition, there is a swimming pool with sun loungers, a private lake where fishing is allowed, a barbecue, and a garden with plenty of space for parking cars or other outdoor activities.
Other places of interest in the area
In addition to this hiking route that we have suggested, there is more to do in the area around Forat de Bulí. It should be noted that along the route you will come across viewpoints from where you will be able to enjoy incredible views. But we would like to add one more stop. If you are in the mood and have the opportunity, stop by the hermitage of Sant Martí de Terrassola. It is a 10th-11th century building that forms part of the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
